Personal belief plays a major role in how accurate or helpful astrology feels to an individual.

In Vedic culture, Maharishi Parashara is widely regarded as the father of horoscope and Vedic astrology (Jyotish Shastra). He was a great sage and scholar who composed the ancient and authoritative text “Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra”, which forms the foundation of Vedic astrology. This scripture contains detailed knowledge about planetary positions, zodiac signs (Rashis), houses (Bhavas), and predictive techniques. Parashara introduced the concept of the birth chart or Janma Kundali, which maps the positions of planets at the time of an individual’s birth. This chart forms the basis for predictions related to one’s career, marriage, health, and spiritual growth.

There are 12 star signs, also known as zodiac signs, in Western astrology. These signs are based on the position of the Sun at the time of a person’s birth and each represents different personality traits and characteristics. The 12 zodiac signs are: Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces.

A Vedic chart, also known as a Janam Kundli or birth chart, is a detailed astrological diagram used in Vedic astrology (Jyotish Shastra) to understand an individual’s personality, life events, and destiny. It is created based on the exact date, time, and place of a person’s birth. The chart maps the positions of the nine celestial bodies (Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, Rahu, and Ketu) across the twelve zodiac signs and twelve houses at the moment of birth.
